Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, says the state is fast becoming a leading commercial hub in the Sahel region, driven by strategic reforms and investments.
In a statement by his Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad, on Thursday, Yusuf said his administration is building on Kano’s strong commercial heritage while adopting modern approaches for sustainable growth.

Represented by his Special Adviser on State Affairs, Alhaji Usman Bala, at the launch of two books in Abuja, the governor said his government has strengthened security, expanded infrastructure, and improved power supply to attract investors and support businesses.
He stressed the role of traditional and religious leaders in maintaining peace, which he described as key to investment and economic progress. Yusuf also reiterated his commitment to supporting small businesses and promoting transparency in governance.
To encourage learning and leadership development, the governor purchased 200 copies of the newly launched books for N20 million, saying the move aims to promote knowledge and innovation across the state.
