According to him, the suspect was apprehended on October 5, 2025, at Gidan Lage Market following credible intelligence received by the police. Acting on the tip-off, officers swiftly moved to the location and took the suspect into custody.

During the operation, police recovered 56 pieces of suspected counterfeit $100 notes, one $1 note, four Android phones, and a keypad handset.

SP Adam added that the suspect could not provide a convincing explanation for possessing the fake currency. The case has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Dutse for further investigation.
