Abuja was tense on Tuesday when soldiers prevented Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), from entering a plot of land in Gaduwa.

Wike had arrived at the site accompanied by officials from the Federal Capital Territory Development Association (FCDA) but was barred entry by military personnel.
The minister reacted angrily, insisting that no individual should use force to intimidate others or place themselves above the government. He criticized the lack of prior communication from senior authorities and questioned why military intervention was used instead of addressing the matter directly in his office.
The land in question is reportedly owned by a former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Zubairu Gambo. Wike emphasized that he would not be intimidated and urged that impunity should not be allowed to prevail.
