The Nigerian Army has announced the commencement of applications for its 2026 Short Service Combatant Course (SSC) 49, calling on eligible Nigerians to apply.

The announcement was made in a brief statement shared on the Army’s official Facebook page on Thursday. According to the notice, successful candidates will be commissioned to serve in the Combat Arms and Combat Support Arms of the Nigerian Army.
Interested applicants are advised to visit the official recruitment portal at https://recruitment.army.mil.ng/military-secretary for full details and registration procedures. The Army emphasized that the exercise provides an opportunity for patriotic Nigerians to contribute to national service through commitment, discipline, and courage.
The statement also highlighted that the recruitment process is completely free of charge. Applicants must, however, meet specific eligibility requirements, including age limits, academic qualifications, and physical fitness standards as outlined on the recruitment portal.
The Nigerian Army urged prospective candidates to adhere strictly to the official guidelines and warned against engaging with unauthorized individuals or websites.
