The Adamawa State Police Command confirmed the development. Spokesperson Suleiman Nguroje told PUNCH Online on Tuesday that the attack took place in the Kiri area of the council.

Police have been deployed to the area to prevent further escalation and apprehend those responsible. “Officers are already on the ground to ensure the situation does not escalate and the perpetrators are arrested,” Nguroje said.

Local sources said Mamuda went missing while grazing his cattle. A search party later discovered the dead cows, Mamuda’s bloodstained cap, and several gun cartridges at the scene.
