Daily News 24 reports that SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Kano State Police Command, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday on behalf of Commissioner of Police CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori.

He revealed that the kidnapping took place on March 8, 2025, in Zakirai Town, Gabasawa LGA, where the kidnappers demanded a N15 million ransom. However, through a meticulous and intelligence-driven investigation, the police arrested five suspects and rescued the victim on March 17, 2025.

The recovered funds were handed over to the owner through the Local Government Chairman of Gabasawa, Hon. Pharm Sagir Usman Abubakar, who commended the police for their swift intervention.

Commissioner of Police CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori reassured the public of the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property. He urged residents to provide useful information that could help in tackling crime.
