According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the defectors, who arrived in clusters under different leadership structures, were formally received by the Managing Director of the Hadejia-Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, Rabiu Bichi.
Speaking at the event, Bichi welcomed the new members and commended their decision to join the ruling party. He attributed their move to the leadership qualities of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC’s commitment to fairness, inclusiveness, and good governance.
He also praised the achievements of the Renewed Hope Agenda, noting its impact on education, agriculture, and youth empowerment.
One of the defectors, Ahmad Gobirawa, who spoke on behalf of the group, said they were motivated by the party’s vision for national progress and the positive changes witnessed under President Tinubu’s administration.
Gobirawa expressed confidence that their defection would further strengthen the APC’s support base in Kano and enhance the party’s grassroots mobilization ahead of future elections.
