An 18-year-old boy in Anambra State has impregnated at least 10 girls, prompting alarm from the state’s Ministry of Women’s Affairs and Social Welfare.

The case was brought to the attention of the commissioner, Ify Obinabo, who confirmed the development on Tuesday through a video posted on social media. She acknowledged that the situation was beyond her office’s capacity and called on the public to offer guidance on how to manage the case.
The teenager was previously an apprentice but was dismissed after impregnating both his master’s daughter and a salesgirl. Upon returning to his village, he reportedly fathered eight more pregnancies within a span of two months.
His mother is said to be overwhelmed and fearful that more girls may fall victim if urgent steps are not taken.
The boy is alleged to have lured his victims by professing love and promising to marry them once he became wealthy. The state ministry is now examining whether the teenager’s actions stem from psychological, social, or spiritual factors.
