The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) is set to release the results for the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) Monday, August 12, 2024.

This year’s results will be released exactly 45 days after the final exam was conducted, maintaining WAEC’s tradition of prompt result delivery.

A total of 1.8 million candidates sat for the exam, with 49.73% being male and 50.27% female. The candidates were examined in 76 subjects across 197 papers, with 30,000 secondary school teachers overseeing the examination process.

The results will not only accessible online but also come with digital copies of candidates’ certificates, available through WAEC’s digital certificate platform. This initiative is part of WAEC’s ongoing efforts to modernize and improve accessibility for candidates.

The release of these results is timely, as many tertiary institutions, including universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education, have already begun their admission processes for the current academic year. This development is crucial for candidates hoping to secure admission during the ongoing exercise.

The announcement of the result release was made by the WAEC acting Head of Public Affairs, Mrs. Moyosola Adesina, at the WAEC headquarters in Yaba, Lagos. She confirmed that all necessary preparations had been made to ensure a smooth release of the results.
