US President Donald Trump has ordered the withdrawal of government-funded security details assigned to Hunter Biden and Ashley Biden, the son and daughter of former President Joe Biden.

Trump announced the decision on his Truth Social platform, describing the 18-member security team assigned to Hunter Biden as “ridiculous.” He also noted that Hunter is currently vacationing in South Africa, a nation recently affected by the suspension of US aid due to alleged human rights violations.
Under federal law, Secret Service protection is automatically provided to former presidents and their spouses, while their children receive protection only until they turn 16. However, exceptions are sometimes made for adult children for a limited period.
A spokesperson for the Secret Service confirmed that the agency is aware of Trump’s directive and will comply.
This decision is part of a broader effort by Trump to take action against individuals he perceives as political adversaries. His administration has also revoked security clearances for Joe Biden, former officials, and employees linked to law firms associated with the Democratic Party.
The White House has defended these measures, emphasizing that security protections and clearances are not guaranteed for life.
