Former President Donald Trump was rushed off stage after gunshots were reportedly fired during his rally in Pennsylvania.

The incident occurred while Trump was delivering a speech, and video footage shows him appearing to fall to the ground, clutching the side of his head. Armed security personnel quickly surrounded Trump, who remained on the ground for approximately a minute. He then rose to his feet, pumped his fist in the air, and was escorted off stage and into a vehicle. Trump was subsequently driven away from the scene.

Video from the rally showed what appeared to be blood on Trump’s ear as he was taken away. The former president was seen holding the side of his head as he fell to the ground.

In response to the incident, Republican Senator J.D. Vance of Ohio urged supporters to pray for Trump and those present at the rally. “Everyone, join me in praying for our President Trump and everyone at that rally. I hope everyone is ok,” Vance said in a post on the X social media platform.

The US Secret Service confirmed that Trump was safe and announced the initiation of an investigation. “This is now an active Secret Service investigation and further information will be released when available,” the agency stated on X.

Trump’s campaign issued a statement assuring supporters of his well-being. “President Trump thanks law enforcement and first responders for their quick action during this heinous act,” said spokesman Steven Cheung. “He is fine and is being checked out at a local medical facility. More details will follow.”

The White House confirmed that President Joe Biden had received an initial briefing on the incident, though no further details were provided.

As the investigation unfolds, authorities are working to determine the motive and identify any suspects involved in the shooting.
