His Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed that Tinubu is expected to meet with French President Emmanuel Macron during his Paris visit.

This will be Tinubu’s fourth trip abroad this year, following visits to Ghana for the inauguration of President John Mahama, the United Arab Emirates, and Tanzania for the African Energy Summit.

Following his time in Paris, the president will attend the 46th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council and the 38th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of AU Heads of State in Addis Ababa. These key events are scheduled from February 12th to 16th, 2025.

President Tinubu’s foreign trips have ignited debate in Nigeria, with some questioning their value amid economic challenges. However, Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar defends the trips as vital for strengthening diplomatic ties and attracting investments, citing a $2 billion investment secured during a trip to Brazil.
