President Bola Tinubu left Paris for London on Saturday for a “private visit.”

“Tinubu, who was originally scheduled to return to Abuja on Saturday, will now proceed to London, United Kingdom, for a short private visit,” his Special Adviser on Special Duties, Communication, and Strategy, Dele Alake, said in a statement on Saturday.

The statement is titled, ‘After a successful Paris outing, President Tinubu is off to London on a private visit.’

According to Alake, the “President will be back in the country in time for the upcoming Eid-el-Kabir festival.”

Tinubu wrapped up his official trip to Paris on Friday, where he attended the ‘A New Global Financing Pact’ summit hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron.

Aside from his participation in the event, the President met with fellow heads of state and government, global business leaders, and chief executives of leading multilateral and development finance institutions from around the world on the sidelines.

According to the Presidential Spokesman, the summit provided the Nigerian leader with the opportunity to project on a global stage his advocacy for fiscal space expansion and economic justice for Africa as the world accelerates the pace of energy transition.

Tinubu also emphasised the importance of dealing with the pressing issues of poverty and climate change.
