The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has issued a public apology to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) over recent verbal attacks made by Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the party’s former presidential flag bearer.

In a statement released on Sunday by the NNPP’s National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Oginni Olaposi, the party clarified that Kwankwaso’s recent remarks were his personal opinions and did not reflect the official position of the NNPP. The party stressed that Kwankwaso had been expelled and that his Kwankwasiya Movement was no longer associated with the NNPP.

The NNPP cautioned Kwankwaso against using the party’s name or platform to criticize President Tinubu or any political organization, noting that court judgments had upheld his expulsion from the party.

Reiterating its focus on national development, the NNPP emphasized its commitment to constructive political engagement and distanced itself from any form of inflammatory rhetoric.

The party also urged the media and the public to refrain from identifying Kwankwaso as a member or representative of the NNPP, stating that he now leads the Kwankwasiya Movement and holds no position within the party.
