Alhaji Abubakar Sule Garo, also known as Babangida and the older brother of Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, the 2023 deputy governorship candidate in Kano State, has passed away.

He died on Sunday, May 11, and was buried later that day at the Emir’s Palace, Kofar Kudu, in accordance with Islamic customs.

The funeral was attended by notable dignitaries, including Kano State Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jibril S. Falgore, and former Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso. Prominent Islamic scholars, political figures, family members, and sympathizers also gathered to pay their last respects.

Prayers for his soul were offered during the ceremony, with many asking Allah for forgiveness of his shortcomings and eternal peace.
