Awwal Manu-Dogondaji, the state’s Commissioner for Establishment and Pension Matters, announced that workers will now operate from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday to Thursday, and from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Fridays. Normal work schedules will resume after the fasting period.

Similarly, Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has also adjusted working hours for state employees. Civil servants will now work from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Fridays.

The initiative aligns with efforts to support Muslim workers as they observe the month of fasting, during which they refrain from eating, drinking, and other activities from dawn to dusk.
