This is contained in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, which said the suspects Nasiru Adamu, 30, from Sokoto State, Yusuf Sani, 49, and Aliyu Yusuf, 25, both from Daura LGA, Katsina State, were apprehended on September 2, 2025, at Danagundi Quarters, Kano.

The arrest followed a report from Salisu Ibrahim who claimed the suspects tricked him by pretending to have special security powers and instructed him to hand over N1,030,000 at a designated location. Acting promptly on the distress call, the police with assistance from the public detained the suspects. Investigations are ongoing and charges will be filed upon completion.

Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, commended the swift response of the police officers and the cooperation of the public in securing the arrests. He reiterated the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property, combating crime, and strengthening public trust in the police.

The Kano State Police Command urged residents to report similar fraudulent activities and remain vigilant. Victims of such scams are encouraged to contact the Investigation Police Officer or report to the nearest police station.

The Command also highlighted the importance of community collaboration in maintaining safety and referenced its ongoing Operation Kukan Kura.
