The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has imposed another fine on Kano Pillars FC following violent scenes that marred their home fixture against Shooting Stars FC on October 12, 2025, at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.
The latest sanction totals N9.5 million, raising the club’s cumulative fines to over N46 million within the past six years.

In a statement issued on October 13, the NPFL found Kano Pillars guilty of breaching league regulations after their fans invaded the pitch and physically assaulted players and match officials. The league described the act as “a grave breach of security and an act of gross misconduct,” stressing its zero-tolerance stance toward violence in Nigerian football.
Alongside the financial penalty, the league deducted three points and three goals from Pillars, ordered the closure of the Sani Abacha Stadium for the rest of the season or at least ten matches, and directed that their home fixtures be moved to Katsina.
The club has also been instructed to identify and prosecute those involved in the violence and to submit a comprehensive security plan to the league within seven days.
