The Kano State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has inaugurated its presidential campaign council with former governor Ibrahim Shekarau as the director-general.

Inaugurating the council yesterday in Kano, chairman of the PDP Northwest Senator Bello Hayatu, said it had about 1000 members.

He said the party had drawn allĀ  members on yellow alert to ensure victory in not only the presidential election but in all the other contests.

In his acceptance speech, Shekarau promised that his committee would do everything possible to ensure the party emerges victorious despite the case they have at the Appeal Court

The former governor urged all members of the council to embark on door-to-door campaign, adding that the party had all it takes to turn Nigeria around where ordinary citizens would have a sense of belonging.

Members of the committee were drawn from all the 44 local government councils, with three senatorial candidates and all candidates of the House of Representatives as well as candidates of the state House of Assembly.
