Engr. Ahmad Ishaq, the newly appointed Special Adviser to Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on Works, has been confirmed dead barely a day after his appointment.

Ishaq was among 13 Special Advisers, seven Commissioners, and six Permanent Secretaries sworn in on Monday at the Kano State Government House. He passed away on Wednesday in Egypt.

In a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature, Governor Yusuf expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Engr. Ishaq, describing his death as a tragic and irreplaceable loss to Kano State, his family, and the wider political community.

“This is a heartbreaking moment for us as a government. Engr. Bunkure was a dedicated professional whose expertise and contributions were expected to drive our administration’s vision for development. His loss is deeply felt,” the governor said.

Governor Yusuf prayed for Allah’s mercy on the deceased and strength for his family to bear the painful loss.

Condolences have continued to pour in, including messages from His Excellency, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and members of the Kano State Government.
