He announced his return on Monday during a media briefing in Ikeja, Lagos, where he was joined by his supporters. His decision follows a recent meeting with President Bola Tinubu at Aso Rock, Abuja, where they discussed undisclosed matters.
Before making his move, Jandor consulted with key political figures, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former military President Ibrahim Babangida, and former Head of State Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar.
Explaining his defection, Jandor said he believes APC is better positioned to deliver good governance in Lagos and across Nigeria. He stressed that his decision was not driven by personal ambition but by a commitment to development and progress.
Jandor previously contested the 2023 Lagos governorship election under the PDP but later resigned from the party, accusing its leadership of working against him. His return to APC is seen as a major political shift ahead of future elections.
