This decision was reached during the 2025 Policy Meeting on Admissions held on Tuesday at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja. The meeting had in attendance top officials from various tertiary institutions across the country.
In addition to the university benchmark, JAMB announced that applicants to colleges of nursing sciences will need to score at least 140, while the minimum requirement for admission into polytechnics, colleges of education, and colleges of agriculture has been set at 100.
The examination body confirmed the new admission standards in a post shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, stating that the cut-off marks were unanimously agreed upon by heads of tertiary institutions during the policy meeting.
