The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kano Sector Command, has pledged to maintain and strengthen its working relationship with the Kano State Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) as part of efforts to enhance public safety and promote responsible road use.
The Sector Commander, Corps Commander Muhammad Bature, made this known during a visit by the newly elected executive members of the chapel to the FRSC headquarters in Kano.

He commended the new leadership for reaching out and described the visit as a reaffirmation of the ongoing partnership between the two bodies. The commander stressed the importance of continued collaboration with the media in advancing road safety campaigns across the state.
The FRSC boss also called on members of the chapel to support the corps’ nationwide activities by volunteering for the Special Marshal programme, aimed at reducing road crashes and fatalities. He noted that the corps is involved in a range of operations including mobile court patrols, public education, and law enforcement, and expressed readiness to introduce more initiatives with media support.
The Chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel, Murtala Adewale, stated that the visit was aimed at reinforcing the long-standing relationship between the chapel and the corps. He reaffirmed the chapel’s readiness to use its platforms to promote awareness around traffic regulations and the FRSC’s activities.
He also shared his previous experience serving with the FRSC during his National Youth Service, noting that it gave him firsthand insight into the agency’s role in protecting lives on the road.
