The Kano State Hisbah Board has apprehended five youths for allegedly conducting a marriage without parental approval or adhering to Islamic legal procedures.
Deputy Commander of the Board, Dr. Mujahideen Aminuddeen, confirmed the arrest in a statement released on Monday in Kano.

According to him, those arrested include the groom, the bride, and three individuals who acted as witnesses and representatives during the marriage ceremony.
Dr. Aminuddeen revealed that the marriage was performed with a bride price of N10,000, an amount he described as below the standard set by Islamic law.
He explained that the act contravened Islamic guidelines governing marriage, prompting the Hisbah to launch an investigation to ascertain all the details surrounding the incident.
The Deputy Commander advised parents to pay closer attention to their children’s activities, especially in matters concerning marriage, to prevent them from engaging in acts that violate religious principles.
