The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has received Senator Kawu Sumaila and other prominent politicians who dumped the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) for the APC.

This was disclosed in a statement by Aminu Dahiru, Senior Special Assistant to the APC National Chairman on Visual Communication and Events. Those who joined the ruling party alongside Kawu Sumaila include Rt. Hon. Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, who represents Rano/Kibiya/Bunkure in the National Assembly, Dr. Baffa Bichi, former Secretary to the Kano State Government, and Hon. Badamasi Ayuba, former lawmaker from Danbatta/Makoda constituency.
Others who defected are Hon. Abdullahi Sani Rogo, Rt. Hon. Zubairu Hamza Masu, Hon. Muhammad Diggol, Hon. Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada, and Hon. Abbas Sani Abbas.
According to the statement, many of the defectors cited “injustice” and unfair treatment by NNPP’s national leader, Dr. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, as their reason for leaving the party.
They expressed confidence in APC’s leadership under Ganduje and pledged their commitment to building a stronger political structure within the party.
