Gunmen raided Maga Comprehensive Girls’ Secondary School in Kebbi State early Monday, killing at least one staff member, wounding a school guard, and abducting an unknown number of female pupils.
The assault occurred around 5:52 a.m. as students were preparing for the day, with gunmen opening fire intermittently on the campus.

Local residents say the attackers remain close to the area, creating a climate of fear, and have urged federal and state authorities to act swiftly to rescue the kidnapped students. Witnesses described scenes of panic as the militants moved through the school grounds.
In a separate incident, two security personnel were killed in Rogun Village, Kpada District, Patigi Local Government Area, Kwara State. According to a security source, the attackers, locally referred to as bandits, stormed a police outpost late Sunday night and engaged officers in a prolonged gunfight. A police constable and a vigilante officer were confirmed dead following the clash.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the number of students abducted in Kebbi or provided updates on ongoing rescue efforts.
