Former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, allegedly paid the dollar equivalent of N200 million in cash for a five-bedroom property in Wuse, Abuja, a witness told a Federal High Court in Abuja.

Testifying on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, prosecution witness Mohammed Ashelk Jidda said Mamman, alongside Mohammed Hussein and two others, visited his office and opted to pay in dollars instead of naira as initially agreed. Jidda, who operates Mohibat Investment Limited, said the transaction was finalized with Hussein acting on Mamman’s instructions.

Real estate agent Samson Bitrus corroborated Jidda’s testimony, stating he facilitated the property purchase, which was settled in dollars.

Zenith Bank compliance officer Umar Abbatilde testified on related transactions, revealing a N5.5 million inflow to Bitrus’ account from Firststar Limited and subsequent transfers to Mamman Nasir Ademu.

Justice James Omotosho adjourned the case to March 18 and 19.

Mamman faces a 12-count charge, including conspiracy to commit money laundering involving over N33 billion.
