An Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court on Thursday sentenced a 24-year-old ex-convict, Segun Durojaiye, to three years imprisonment for stealing a Techno phone worth N55, 000
Magistrate Olajumoke Somefun sentenced Durojaiye after he pleaded guilty to theft.
Somefun also held that Durojaiye was an unrepentant criminal who enjoys  committing crimes and not willing to change.
She held that the prosecution had proven its case beyond reasonable doubts.
She sentenced Durojaiye  without an option of fine.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, ASP Olakunle Shonibare told the court that the convict committed the offence on Oct. 23 at Isiaka street, Elite Road in Abeokuta.
Shonibare, said the convict broke into Mr Oludara Gbenga’s compound  and stole his Techno phone worth N55, 000.
The prosecution said that Durojaiye, was an ex-convict who was sentenced to a two weeks community service within the court premises.
He noted the convict was released only three days ago.
The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of Section 390(9) of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun 2006.
