Azuka, who represented Onitsha North 1 Constituency, was kidnapped on December 24, 2024, while returning home for Christmas. He was seized along Ugwunaobankpa Road in Inland Town, Onitsha, by armed men in a swift attack.
Confirming the discovery, the Anambra State Police Command said a joint security team found Azuka’s decomposing body during a routine patrol.
Police spokesperson Tochukwu Ikenga stated that an investigation is underway to track down those responsible for the crime.
Azuka’s death is a major loss for the Labour Party, as he was a key figure who had recently reclaimed his legislative seat. His return to office followed a court ruling that nullified the election victory of Douglas Egbuna of the Peoples Democratic Party.
