Edwin Clark, a prominent South-South leader and former Federal Commissioner for Information, has passed away at the age of 97.

The family confirmed his death in a statement released on Monday night, February 17, 2025.

The statement, signed by Prof. C. C. Clark, confirmed his death and expressed heartfelt appreciation for the public’s prayers and support during this difficult period.

Clark, who also served as a senator and was the leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), was a key figure in Nigerian politics, particularly advocating for the rights of the Niger Delta region.

His passing follows the recent death of Ayo Adebanjo, the leader of Afenifere, who also passed away at the age of 96.

The Clark family has assured the public that further information about his passing and funeral arrangements will be shared in due course.
