A global association that specialises in assessing political debates of contestants across societies, Political Debates Assessment Forum (PODAF) has congratulated Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state over an excellent performance by the state Deputy Governor and gubernatorial candidate for the forthcoming election, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, at the gubernatorial debate organised by the Hausa Service of British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), at Aliko Dangote Business School Bayero University, Kano, Saturday.

In a letter transmitted to the governor and signed by the Nigerian Coordinator of the association, Mr Johnson Craig, states that, “We are extremely impressed with the excellent performance of your Deputy, who is also the gubernatorial candidate of All Progressives and (APC) in Kano state during the just concluded gubernatorial debate organised by BBC Hausa Service.”

The letter partly reads, “our association finds it extremely necessary to congratulate His Excellency, the governor for the wonderful performance of his Deputy Gawuna, who did well and proved to all that, APC’s candidate is experienced, skillful, down-to-earth, well exposed and a very peaceful politician.”

While congratulating the governor, PODAF believes that, Kano has a better choice in the Deputy Governor, Dr Gawuna. And emphasizes that, the debate exposed how focused, patriotic and determined the Deputy Governor is.

Adding that, “the choice of Dr Gawuna and his running mate Murtala Sule Garo, with their vast experience in governance, right from the grassroot, will play a major role in the forthcoming elections. This has been manifested in the BBC Debate. Where Gawuna impressed all right thinking electorates, as articulate and focused as he appeared.
