A powerful political coalition featuring former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, ex-governors Rotimi Amaechi and Nasir El-Rufai has submitted an application to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register a new political party called the All Democratic Alliance (ADA).

The coalition, operating under the umbrella of the Nigeria National Coalition Group (NNCG), made the submission on June 19, 2025, with INEC formally receiving it a day later on June 20. The application was signed by Chief Akin A. Rickets, the group’s Protem National Chairman.

Documents obtained in Abuja show that the submission included the party’s name, acronym (ADA), slogan “Justice for All,” logo, manifesto, constitution, and other foundational documents such as the party flag and meeting minutes.

The ADA’s manifesto and constitution are said to reflect its ideological framework, internal structure, and organizational goals, all crafted to align with Nigeria’s Constitution and established democratic principles.

Initially, the NNCG had considered merging with or joining existing political parties. However, internal disagreements and ongoing legal disputes among members led to a shift in strategy. A special committee, chaired by Rotimi Amaechi, recommended forming a brand-new political platform, a proposal that has now materialized with the ADA registration request.

Alongside Atiku, Amaechi, and El-Rufai, other prominent figures in the coalition include political strategist Dr. Umar Ardo, who played a key role in shaping the group’s direction.

The application is currently under review by INEC, as the coalition awaits the commission’s response on the next steps toward formal registration.
