The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has suspended former Minister of Interior and ex-governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, over accusations of engaging in anti-party activities.

The Osun APC submitted a resolution to the party’s National Secretariat, addressed to APC National Chairman, Dr. Umar Ganduje, detailing the charges against Aregbesola.

The party alleges that Aregbesola fostered divisions within the Osun APC by establishing a splinter faction, a move party leaders claim has weakened party cohesion at a critical time in the state’s political landscape.

According to the Osun APC, Aregbesola’s influence over certain groups within the party has contributed to internal discord, with leaders asserting that this suspension is necessary to address perceived disloyalty and restore unity within the party.

The decision underscores the party’s efforts to realign leadership and strengthen internal unity as they prepare for future electoral engagements. Reactions from Aregbesola’s camp are anticipated as the situation continues to unfold.
