Jibrin made the announcement on Monday in a statement confirming his exit from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and the Kwankwasiyya Movement, both led by former Kano State governor, Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

His return to the APC comes two months after his expulsion from the NNPP over alleged anti-party activities and non-payment of membership dues.

Speaking on his decision, Jibrin expressed gratitude to the NNPP and its members for their previous cooperation, while urging his supporters to align with him in strengthening the APC ahead of 2027.

The homecoming event held in his hometown of Kofa, Bebeji Local Government Area, drew a massive crowd of supporters who gathered to celebrate his return. The ceremony also featured prayers from over 2,000 Islamic clerics (Ulamas) for President Tinubu, peace, and progress in Kano State and across Nigeria.
