The Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved the reinstatement of Barr. Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado as Chairman of the Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, PCACC, to complete his tenure.

Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, made this known in a statement sent to DailyNews24.

Dawakin Tofa said the reinstatement is with immediate effect and in compliance with a court order.

Recall that Barr Muhuyi was suspended from office by the previous administration in questionable circumstances.

Sequel to that, the National Industrial Court sitting in Kano ordered the reinstatement of Muhuyi Rimin Gado as the chairman of the commission with immediate effect.

Delivering the judgement in May, Justice Ebeye David Eseimo Isele said the claimant was denied a fair hearing and that the Kano House of Assembly lacked any power whatsoever to dismiss or recommend dismissal of the claimant without recourse to the principles of fair hearing.

The judge held that the claimant was consequently wrongfully dismissed and thereby ordered his reinstatement with immediate effect.

DailyNews24 reports that Muhuyi was summarily suspended and later removed from office by former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje after the state assembly said it investigated and uncovered several anomalies against him.

But he told journalists that the then government decided to axe him because he was investigating some capital projects in which the name of the first family featured.
