Graduates who completed Higher National Diploma (HND) programs on a full-time basis are now eligible for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) mobilization.

Daily News 24 reports that the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, disclosed this on Thursday in Abuja after a meeting with the NYSC Director-General. He stated that the decision resolves a long-standing issue that previously excluded HND holders from the scheme. He emphasized that only full-time HND graduates will be considered, while those who completed their programs on a part-time basis remain ineligible.

To ensure a smooth process, the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has been directed to compile data on eligible graduates. In line with this, polytechnic rectors have been instructed to upload the necessary details onto a newly created HND admission portal, which will serve as the official database for NYSC mobilization.

Dr. Alausa urged all qualified graduates to take advantage of the opportunity and proceed with their mobilization. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fairness and inclusivity in education, ensuring equal opportunities for all eligible Nigerian graduates.
