The Kano State government has announced the dissolution of the interim management and board members of Kano Pillars Football Club following the expiration of their tenure in December 2023.

The announcement was made through a press release on Friday issued by the Honourable Commissioner of the Ministry of Youths and Sports Development.

According to the statement, a new management team will be appointed soon to usher Kano Pillars FC into its next chapter of success and development. The commissioner extended the state government’s gratitude to the outgoing interim management and board members for their dedicated service. “Their contributions have been invaluable in the advancement of Kano Pillars Football Club,” the statement read.

The government thanked the outgoing members for their hard work, commitment, and dedication to the club and the sport of football in Kano State. “We appreciate their efforts in steering the club through this period and laying a solid foundation for future success.”

In the interim, the outgoing interim management and board members are requested to hand over the affairs of Kano Pillars FC to the most senior civil servant immediately. This senior civil servant will ensure a smooth transition and continuity of operations until the new management and board are appointed.

The press release concluded with an assurance that the state government is committed to the continued success and development of Kano Pillars FC and will work diligently to appoint a capable management team to lead the club forward.

Gov’t gives Kano Pillars 3-match ultimatum to return to winning

Recall that Daily News 24 reported how the Kano State Government, owners of Kano Pillars Football Club, gave the club’s management and technical crew a three-match ultimatum.

The Acting State Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Hamza Kachako, while handing them the ultimatum said it was for the team to regain form and return to winning ways.

He however did not state what was going to happen to the officials, or the team itself, if they failed to perform as expected.
