The Makurdi Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) successfully arrested 23 individuals suspected of involvement in internet fraud.

On its official Facebook handle the EFCC stated that the operation took place on August 20, 2023, within the vicinity of Makurdi, Benue State.

The suspects identified as David Uvaa, Patrick Adakole, Cyprian Aloo, Michael Anaambe, Okti Clinton, Ibi Raphael, Anaambe George, Msaasha John, Oche Edache, Anaker Terpase, Tanko Japhet, and Ayalgo Lorfa, were apprehended during the operation.

The list of suspects also includes Success Terzungwe, Suursuter Isaiah, Lawani Peter, Paul Adewa, Jacob Paul, Ibi Shedrack, Iorkosu Michael, Shiedu Leonard, Terseer Mnenge, Ikyorna Raphael, and Igba Ngutor.

The seizure of various mobile phones and a Toyota Corolla car constituted the items recovered from the suspects.

The EFCC stated that items ” recovered from them include different mobile phones and one Toyota Corolla car.” Adding that “The suspects have made useful statements and will be charged to court as soon as the investigation is concluded.”
