A High Court has restrained the Kano State Government from going ahead with the planned demolition of houses located on the BUK Road in Gwale Local Government of the state.

The court granted the exparte motion application dated July 4, moved by Ibrahim Adamu, Counsel to the plaintiffs on behalf of Malam Bashir Abdullahi and 19 others.

The respondents in the suit are Gov. Abba Yusuf, the Attorney General and the Kano State Bureau for Land Management and Kano Urban Planning and Development.

Justice Hafsat Yahaya-Sani, granted  the  order of interim injunction restraining the respondents by themselves, agents, workmen or servants from encroaching on the land pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.

Yahaya-Sani adjourned the matter until Oct.26, for hearing on motion on notice.
