The newly appointed Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kano State, Bala Bawa-Bodinga, has ordered immediate 24-hour patrols and surveillance across the state.

Announcing his directive on Tuesday, the Corps’ Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Idris-Abdullahi, said the move is aimed at safeguarding critical national assets and infrastructure.

Bawa-Bodinga, who was previously the NSCDC Commandant in Jigawa State, is known for his experience and dedication in law enforcement. Over the years, he has held key roles, including Chief Security Officer to the FCT education boards, the National Hajj Commission, and the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission. He also served in anti-vandal units and departments responsible for protecting vital installations.

Born on February 7, 1973, in Bodinga Local Government Area of Sokoto State, the new commandant holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Hausa Language from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He has also undertaken several professional trainings both within and outside Nigeria, including a Certificate in Intelligence Operations from the International Institute of Professional Security (IIPS).
