The Kano State Government has fixed September 7 and 8, 2025, as the official resumption dates for primary and post-primary schools in the state for the 2025/2026 academic session.

This was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru, Director of Public Enlightenment at the Ministry of Education. According to the announcement, boarding schools are to reopen on Sunday, September 7, while day schools will resume the following day, Monday, September 8.
Parents and guardians were advised to ensure their children return to school promptly, as the ministry warned that students who fail to comply with the resumption schedule would face disciplinary measures.
The Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda, extended his best wishes to teachers, pupils, and students as they prepare for the new session. He also reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to monitoring schools regularly to guarantee punctuality and efficiency among staff.
