The National Universities Commission (NUC) has accredited all 28 academic programmes of Zamfara State University, Talata-Mafara, following an evaluation exercise conducted between February 16 and 26, 2025.

According to a statement signed by the university’s management, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Yahya A. Zakari, who spoke on behalf of the management and Senate, announced that 20 of the programmes received full accreditation with excellent scores, while the remaining eight were granted interim accreditation.

“This is a testament to the university’s commitment to academic excellence and quality education,” Prof. Zakari said.

Some of the programmes that secured accreditation include BNSc. Nursing Science, BSc. Public Health, BSc. Physiotherapy, BSc. Human Nutrition and Dietetics, BSc. Computer Science, BSc. Biology, BSc. Geology, BSc. Mass Communication, BSc. Economics, and BSc. Electronics. Others are BA History and International Studies, BA English, BA Islamic Studies, BEd. Primary Education, and BEd. Early Childhood Education.

The university management expressed appreciation to the Zamfara State Government for its support, particularly in providing the resources required to meet NUC’s accreditation standards.

“Specifically, the Management thanks His Excellency, Governor Dauda Lawal most sincerely for his attention to the needs of the university, which has enabled it to meet all accreditation requirements effectively,” the statement read.

The university also commended its faculty, staff, and students for their contributions toward achieving this milestone.

“Your hard work and dedication have made profound impacts on our pursuit of academic excellence,” the statement added.

According to the university, this development not only boosts its reputation but also reaffirms its resolve to deliver quality education that aligns with both national and international standards.
