Yul Edochie, a Nollywood movie star, has condemned the ongoing challenge mocking the outfit of All Progressives Congress (APC) vice presidential candidate Kashim Shettima.
Photos of the former Borno State governor, who attended the NBA conference in Lagos on Monday, have gone viral on social media.
Nigerians launched the #ShettimaChallenge on Tuesday to recreate the outfit of APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu’s running mate.
Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide, and other social media influencers have joined the challenge.
Reacting, Yul in a tweet on his Twitter handle described the development as a misplaced priority, wondering why Nigerians are bothered about dressing amid the numerous challenges facing the nation.
He wrote, “Nigerians & misplaced priorities. They’ll never trend important issues, only frivolities. Who cares about Shettima’s dressing?
“If the next President of Nigeria can fix the country, secure it and make Nigeria work. He can be wearing only boxers and a singlet to work. Who cares?”
