Former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has once again honored an invitation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over allegations of misappropriation of funds.

The visit took place on Tuesday morning when the embattled ex-governor arrived at the anti-graft agency’s office in Abuja, accompanied by his legal team.

Bello’s appearance at the EFCC follows a Supreme Court ruling that dismissed the constitutional challenge against the agency. The former governor drove himself to the EFCC office in a black Hilux, where he was seen entering the building with his lawyers. Although there were rumors last week about his impending visit, his media aides had not responded to inquiries at the time.

The latest developments come after a hearing on November 14, 2024, at the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Maitama, Abuja.

The EFCC had requested an adjournment in the fresh charges brought against Bello, citing the ongoing 30-day window for the summons previously issued.

The case has been adjourned to November 27, 2024, for further proceedings, with co-defendants Umar Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu granted administrative bail. The court is expected to proceed with Bello’s arraignment at that time.
