Some members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kano have urged the party’s leadership to take immediate action against President Muhammadu Buhari’s aide, Bashir Ahmad, for his alleged disregard for the party’s progress.

Members accused Bashir Ahmad of attending the World Cup in far-off Qatar at a time when the party is struggling to capture Kano and Nigeria in general.

Alhaji Samani Inuwa, one of the party’s leaders from Gaya Local Government, told reporters that Ahmad’s case should be taken seriously.

“We cannot understand why Bashir Ahmad chose to be in Qatar when we were in Kano launching the party’s gubernatorial and other positions campaigns,” he said.

“If every member of the Party acted the way Bashir acted, we don’t think the APC would be elected, so a punishment should be meted out quickly to serve as a deterrent to others.”

In the same vein, party leaders congratulated Governor Abdullahi Ganduje on ensuring a peaceful start to the gubernatorial campaigns in Gaya, assuring that the APC would win Kano despite the odds of Bashir Ahmad.

Bashir Ahmad, President Muhammadu Buhari’s aide on Online Media, tweeted a photo of himself watching the World Cup in a stadium in Qatar. The tweet sparked outrage, with party members calling his actions “unfortunate.”
