Armed bandits have abducted the wives of a prominent Katsina-based businessman, Babangida Mai Goro, during a late-night invasion of his residence in Dutsinma town on Tuesday.

The attack occurred in the Government Reserved Area (GRA) of Dutsinma, a community that has witnessed multiple incidents of banditry in recent times. A security analyst known as Bakatsine, who confirmed the incident, disclosed that the assailants stormed the house when Mai Goro was not around. Unable to find their main target, the bandits seized his wives and escaped.
Bakatsine expressed concern that such a daring assault could happen in a town like Dutsinma without any form of resistance. He said the incident further underscores the deteriorating security situation in the area.
Authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the latest abduction.
