Ganduje Foundation has reiterated its stances in the execution of development programs in targeted communities throughout Kano State and beyond, and is specifically designed to empower, promote, and improve the socioeconomic well-being of the less-privileged and vulnerable people in society.

The State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, made the announcement yesterday at the Rotary District 9125, Zone 3 Foundation Lunch in Kaduna State.

The Governor went on to say that since the foundation’s inception in 1996, it has consistently provided various forms of assistance to the needy in areas such as education, healthcare, youth and women support programs, and vocational skill development, among others.

The Governor, who was represented by Commissioner for Environment, Dr Kabiru Ibrahim Getso, also stated that the foundation has undertaken many humanitarian community projects that have a direct impact on the general well-being of the people since its inception.

“In reference to the Medicare support component, the foundation provided free eye treatment to the less-privileged, particularly rural dwellers. More than 287,000 clients with various eye problems were successfully treated and given the necessary medications and eye glasses across Kano state‘s 44 local government areas.

“Similarly, another batch of 175,000 people with bilateral eye issues such as cataracts and trachoma received free surgeries; they have since discharged and have thrown away their sticks and can now see like many others”, he stressed.

Earlier, in his welcome remarks, the District Governor, Goddy Nnadi mni, expressed profound gratitude to Governor Ganduje and, by extension, the Ganduje Foundation for coming up with highly sensitive innovations and ideas that have positively impacted the lives of the common man and aimed at rebranding the teeming populace.

As a result, the DG presented the foundation lunch award Rotary District 9125 to Governor Ganduje and was registered as an AKS member “Arch Klamp Society.”
