The development was confirmed through an official statement posted on WAEC’s verified X (formerly Twitter) handle on Wednesday evening. The council said the portal, which is usually accessed to check WASSCE results, is currently experiencing technical difficulties.
Many candidates who attempted to check their results were met with error messages and website timeouts, prompting widespread complaints and frustration on social media.
WAEC assured that its technical team is actively working to resolve the issue and expressed hope that the portal would be fully functional within the next 24 hours.
The problem is believed to be linked to a surge in online traffic following the release of the results on Monday. Although the exact cause of the disruption has not been disclosed, WAEC urged candidates to remain patient and monitor its official platforms for updates.
The council emphasized that efforts are ongoing to restore the portal’s functionality as quickly as possible.
Candidates are advised to check WAEC’s official website and social media pages for further announcements.
