Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has accused the United States of deceiving Iran while Israel secretly prepared for military action.

He made the claim in a post on X on Friday, following Iran’s launch of hundreds of ballistic missiles and drones targeting Israel. The former minister described the Iranian response as inevitable, blaming Israel for provoking the conflict through what he called unprovoked airstrikes that violated international law.

According to him, the Israeli attacks not only struck vital infrastructure but also claimed the lives of civilians, including women, children, and key Iranian military and scientific personnel. He alleged that Iran had been in talks with the United States during the period of the attack, which he believes points to American complicity.

Fani-Kayode further criticized the international community for what he saw as a double standard, defending Israel’s right to self-defense while denying Iran the same. He argued that if Israel could act on perceived threats, Iran should also be allowed to respond after coming under direct assault.

He warned that the current conflict could escalate beyond the Middle East and potentially lead to more devastating consequences. He also condemned global support for Israel’s actions, saying such backing encourages aggression and ignores the broader dangers that may follow.

Fani-Kayode maintained that the strikes launched by Iran marked only the beginning of a larger retaliation and that the situation could evolve into a crisis with far-reaching impacts.
