The Chairman of Ungogo Local Government Area, Engr. Abdullahi Garba Ramat has acquired modern surveillance intermediaries such as 24-hour online surveillance cameras for use at various security outfits.
Daily News 24 reports that Ramat procured the items for use at Police stations to enhance adequate security in the Local Government Council.
The items include hidden cameras, automatic switches, and super HD real-time PTZ (Pan-tilt-zoom) IP cameras with 360° rapid speed rotation and 25X magnification capabilities are all standard features in the new Smart police stations.
“Following the implementation of e-governance in Ungogo Locol government via E-Identification recapture which sees Ungogo as the only e-Governance LGA in the whole Nigeria.
“I, as the Executive Chairman, ensured the establishment of ultra Modern Digital Police stations (equipped with modern surveillance intermediaries such as 24-hour online surveillance cameras within and outside the station) in Ungogo’s Rijiyar Zaki and Zango wards.
“Hidden cameras, automatic switches, and super HD real-time PTZ (Pan-tilt-zoom) IP cameras with 360° rapid speed rotation and 25X magnification capabilities are all standard features in the new Smart police stations.
“These devices were deployed to span a 5km radius for all familiar security officers in charge of monitoring suspicious activities along roadways and sidewalks.” Engr Ramat stated.
He added that, “With this advancement, each divisional police officer (DPO) may watch and monitor his police district and local surroundings from the comfort of his office.
“In essence, the beauty of this new technology is that all actions caught by moving image recognition may be viewed remotely or manually from the DVR storage at any time.
“As a result, anything that occurs inside the captured radius may be observed and studied to determine the presence of any specific incident, so removing the old-age subjective judgment of illegal acts with non-existent visual proofs.
“The execution of this digitised visualization has garnered a number of honours for me as  the Executive Chairman from many sectors, ranging from security agencies to domestic and international civil society.
